SSHA brings ‘highly commended’ homes to Cannock

South Staffordshire Housing Association’s (SSHA) excellent work has been recently acclaimed at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards for its Cornwall Mews development.

SSHA was highly commended in the Best Social Housing Development category for its development on Cornwall Road, Hednesford, Cannock at the national awards, which each year celebrate quality throughout the various stages of a home’s design and build process. The top developments from across the UK are recognised with these highly sought-after honours.

SSHA provides a service to thousands of residents in Staffordshire and Shropshire and being highly commended recognises the extremely high standards that have become a benchmark throughout the region.

Ursula Bennion, director of business development for SSHA comments: “At SSHA we have always strived to exceed the expectations of our residents and local communities. Building and maintaining the highest standards of affordable housing across the region is our priority and to be recognised for this at such a high level is fantastic.

Congratulations go to our contractor Jessup Build Develop and our staff for their hard work and dedication in achieving this esteemed accolade.”

The Cornwall Mews development on Cornwall Road in Hednesford comprises eight top-of-the-range two, three and four bedroom rental properties. To keep fuel costs down and to meet with green legislation they have been built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. To achieve this level, air source heat pumps, low capacity baths, energy efficient lighting, water butts, composters and permeable paving were installed at the site.
