Prestigious award finalist for Property Care

Property Care have been named as finalists at the Midlands Excellence Awards

The property maintenance company, which is part of the West Midlands-based housing organisation Housing Plus, provides responsive repairs, planned works, mobile caretaking, and disabled adaptations services for a growing number of social landlords across the Midlands.

The company goal was to make the organisation think more efficiently in order to reduce paper work and offer a better service to tenants and client landlords alike.

From the Directors to every member of staff, mindsets within the company were changed so that processes could be streamlined, improving the service given to customers and the working lives of the team. Working together, the team has proven that a passionate attitude and desire to improve, really can make a difference.

“As part of the Housing Plus Group, we aim to improve the lives of tenants in the Midlands area and ensure we offer the best service to our customers,” explains Ralph Middlemore, director of property services.  “To make positive changes we needed to go deeper than just bringing in new practices and procedures. After all, the most effective way of improving efficiency is to use people power; by keeping our staff well informed and giving them a voice they became self-motivated, dedicated to the cause and open to change."

From specialised computer software designed to reduce paperwork to team meetings to identify areas of improvement, no stone has gone unturned. “We by no means think there is no room for further improvement”, continues Ralph, “but we could never have wished for better results within the first year."

“We are really proud to have been recognized in the Midlands Excellence Award and have our fingers crossed that it will lead to success.  This really is a team achievement, which couldn’t have happened without the dedication of our fantastic employees at Property Care.”
