New appointment takes extra care of business

Housing Plus appoints care professional for new division

Leading West Midlands housing organisation, Housing Plus, has made a strategic appointment to its South Staffordshire headquarters with the recruitment of care expert, Jo Grainger.

As part of the Group’s expansion into Extra Care, Jo from Wednesfield, Wolverhampton, has taken the title head of Extra Care. With over 20 years’ experience in the sector, initially as a care assistant, Jo moves to Housing Plus from MHA Care Group where she was commissioning manager.

Jo’s current priorities include registering the organisation as a care provider with the commission for quality care, staff recruitment and ensuring the company is in a competitive position to tender for new contracts.

Commenting on her new role, Jo said: “The Housing Plus Group has an excellent reputation for providing exemplary support and services to its customers and the provision of Extra Care will be no exception. I am pleased to be joining the organisation at such an exciting time and am confident that my years of experience will help grow the division into a successful care provider.”

Debbie Griffiths chief executive of Housing Plus, comments: “We recognise that South Staffordshire in particular has the fastest growing elderly population in the UK and access to satisfactory care in old age is a concern for many local people. In light of this, we need a robust and qualified team in place to launch and deliver an Extra Care business and in Jo Grainger we have the ideal person to lead the new division.”

Housing Plus is a leading Midlands-based housing group, which designs, builds and maintains affordable housing and has specialist expertise in rural housing. Partners within the Group include South Staffordshire Housing Association (SSHA) and Property Care.
