Local businesses invited to discuss plans for new older people’s housing development

Care Plus is inviting local businesses to register their interest in running a variety of facilities at their proposed housing development in Penkridge.

In conjunction with South Staffordshire Housing Association, Care Plus recently unveiled plans for an Extra Care housing development for older people at Silverdene, Tildesley Close, Penkridge. As well as providing 82 purpose-built apartments, the development plans to include a café, restaurant, hairdressing and beauty salon and gym, for use by residents and the wider community.

Local businesses who are interested in running these facilities and want to find out more, are invited to discuss plans at a consultation event on Wednesday 8th February between 4pm and 7pm at the Haling Dene Centre, Cannock Road, Penkridge.

If the Association’s planning application is approved, work on site could begin during Summer 2012, with anticipated completion by Autumn 2013. Care Plus, which along with SSHA is part of the Housing Plus Group, will be managing the scheme, which will include options for care and support packages tailored around each residents needs and wishes.
