The visit came as part of the second phase of the National Conversation – the largest consultation ever to be held on social housing issues.
Using the results of the first phase of consultation – which heard the views of 27,000 tenants nationwide – the TSA has published a discussion paper on the proposed new standards and is now seeking landlords’ views.
Phil, a passionate advocate for tenant engagement, exchanged views with Mrs Head a resident at Corsers Court extra care scheme for older people in Perton, before having lunch with staff and Board members.
Housing Plus chairman, Bill Martin said: “We think the TSA has one shot at getting it right. We were very pleased that they were talking to residents, but hearing from practitioners is also essential.
"Phil told us that, having met with some of our residents, he could see just how important the relationship between tenants and their landlord really is and how much difference staff can make through their skills and enthusiasm. We are delighted he came to speak with us."
