Our Group

Working together to make a greater difference

As a group, we are working better together and achieving more than ever before.

We believe that Housing Plus and the unique benefits it offers adds real value to each of its members. These are South Staffordshire Housing Association, Property Care and Care Plus working together and continuing to grow and develop through challenging times.

We are proud to be expanding the range of services we offer even further. In 2010/11 we built 277 new homes and provided 83 much needed extra care properties. We have also completed a range of specialist projects, like Brendan House and St. Luke’s in Cannock, which offer support for those with physical and mental health needs. It is projects like these that demonstrate our commitment to creating unique solutions.

We are also proud of our excellent staff survey results, which continue to confirm our position as an employer of choice. And besides employees, we are also listening to and engaging with more of our customers than ever before. In fact, our Big Day Out and Doorstep Survey allowed us to have valuable face-to-face contact with one in five of our customers, with some great results.

As ever, the statistics are only a small part of the story. Our case studies illustrate how we change lives; this gives us the greatest satisfaction. This satisfaction is the same whether we are launching Silverdene, a partnership project for extra care housing that will improve hundreds of lives throughout the district, or whether we are helping one vulnerable tenant move into his first home at 58 years old and live independently.

To help us achieve all this we have built some amazing partnerships. Our strategic alliance with Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) has continued to be highly successful, as has our innovative shared grounds maintenance contract with South Staffordshire Council and the English Landscape Group.

Karen Armitage, SARH’s Chief Executive explained “Housing Plus has delivered SARH’s development programme since 2006 and we’re delighted that this relationship has continued to mature, with Housing Plus now utilising our community alarm service. By focusing on what we do best, both organisations, and more importantly, our customers have been able to benefit.”

By working together, we serve more tenants. This means we have an even greater influence at a regional level and can achieve even more.

In our proactive approach, we are open to work with new partners who share our values and drive to change lives for the better.
